To modify the 200XLT for recieve of cellular service:

1.  Remove antenna and battery.
2.  Remove two Phillips screws from back, two more from
    bottom (battery retaining spring screws, and the spring
    itself.
3.  Pry rear cover off from bottom and remove.
4.  Revove two small screws from base of circuit board.
5.  Pull front panel from mainframe at base and separate.
6.  Find IC labelled UNIDEN UC-1447 and 10k ohm resistor
    (brown-black-orange) above it.
7.  Cut 10k resistor in two with small wire cutters. Or cut one of the leads.
8.  Reassemble, make sure dual-inline connector at bottom of
    board lines up correctly with socket.  Gently tighten 
    bottom screws.
9.  Replace battery retaining spring (slotted side toward
    notched hole), insert screws and tighten them securely.
10. Replace battery and antenna.

This should allow entering of cellular freqs.  Given to me by 
friend who said it works, but no warranty from me.
